Photographic Competitions

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee are proud to announce their participation in a photographic competitions running over the coming three months. 

The competition is being jointly sponsored by Walsh's Pharmacy, Patrick Street, Avondhu Tourism and Fermoy St. Patrick’s Day parade Committee.

The competitions are

  1. St. Patrick’s Day, Fermoy.  We are looking for photographs taken on the day.  Natural subjects would be participants in the parade, those watching the parade or anything related to the parade.  We want fun, classy, fashion, beautiful, strange or just different. Anything to promote Fermoy and the Parade.
  1. Two monthly competitions, April and May.  Avondhu Tourism wants photographs showing the rich diversity of our natural beauty, heritage, flora and fauna.  We want anything that catches your eye that can promote the Avondhu Tourism Area.
 

Avondhu Area

Although the Avondhu Area is a geographic area, the tourism area is not confined to this area.  Think of it like this “anywhere you would bring a tourist if they came to visit”.  You would take them to Lismore, Capoquin, the Vee, Galtee Mór, Mallow and maybe even Youghal, Cobh or Fota.

The Blackwater, Bride, Funsion and the Awbeg valleys are very rich subject areas.  Show fisherman, rowers, canoeists even swimmers.  Show sportsmen and women, hurling, football, cyclists, runners.  Anything you fancy that looks good and don’t forget people with character.

  1. Historic monuments, castles, churches, buildings
  2. Landscapes
  3. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises
  4. Irish dancing and musicians
  5. Popular Culture
  6. Farming scenes
  7. Equestrian
  8. Anything that shows off our area

There are wonderful prizes from Walsh’s Pharmacy related to photography, memory cards, vouchers, camera cases, etc.
Each entry is to be printed on an A4 photographic paper (8 x 10 or 10 x12).  Walsh’s Pharmacy will print two photographs for the price of one.  Printed entries can be left at Walsh’s Pharmacy, however, each entry must be Uploaded here.

Fermoy Credit Union will display the photographs on their window.

An understanding of entry is that all photographs will be used to promote Tourism in the Fermoy Area and the Fermoy St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Photographs entered for one competition cannot be entered for another.
